Download the PDF ↗Storage is part of experimental quality. This checklist helps you organize lyophilized material, prepared liquids, and other formats using product-specific instructions. It avoids a universal shelf-life rule because identity, formulation, and packaging matter.
Record identity, format, lot, supplier instructions, receipt date, and packaging condition. Use the manufacturer’s specifications for the actual material. A general peptide article is not a substitute for a lot- or formulation-specific instruction.
Lyophilized peptides, prepared liquids, capsules, and finished formulations should have separate records. Do not assume they share temperature limits or stability after opening.
MilliporeSigma’s guidance for its custom lyophilized peptides highlights moisture control and avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Treat these as general handling considerations, not universal specifications for every Real Peptides format. [1]
For an approved laboratory method, consider a documented aliquot plan that fits the supplier’s instructions. Label the material, solvent where relevant, preparation date, lot, and operator. Use appropriate laboratory procedures rather than improvising a personal-use preparation.
Quarantine material with an undocumented temperature excursion, damaged container, or unclear handling history. Record what is known and ask the supplier for a disposition decision supported by stability information. Appearance alone does not establish identity, potency, or suitability.
Do not assign a universal number of refrigerated days. Prepared formulations and solvents can differ. A solution should be managed under the validated method and manufacturer specifications that apply to it.
For each lot, complete these fields: material name; format; lot number; certificate reference; receipt date; required conditions; storage location; opening date; preparation details; excursion history; and final disposition.
Review this record before using material in an experiment. Traceability helps distinguish a biological result from a handling problem. Review published certificates and supplier instructions before procurement.
Review identity, format, current availability, and batch documentation before laboratory procurement. These links identify relevant catalog materials; they do not validate a personal-use protocol.
